—AND…THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN LIFE

...I could walk all day and all night.  I could run one hundred miles.  I could do anything…

…I am an icy slip of nothing.  I guess that means I’m something.

…I was going to say something profound here, but it slipped my tongue again.

…Something I’ve become pretty good at is slipping my hands into a vat of piping hot grease.

…My parents didn’t believe in bedtime stories, furniture, or dentists.  It’s just stuff they didn’t believe in.

…Patience and willpower are the worst kinds of tests.

…Sometimes the cement in my stomach climbs up into my throat, then my mouth, and it tastes like yesterday.

…You might be scowling, but I always had your back.  I did.

…Getting lost isn’t so bad if you open up your eyes and see all the new stuff in front of you.  Then it becomes a kind of an adventure.

…That question the clouds had been waiting to answer all day fell down in a steady downpour and it was kind of glorious.

…You really shouldn’t ever leave without paying.  Really, you shouldn’t.

…Even as I flounder and flop, I’m still silently in love with every minute of being alive.

…Who do you let deliver your narrative?  Isn’t it up to you to tell your own story?

…Sunshine?  Such a fake friend.

…Blackberries are the best use of the sun.  They hold the juice of summer in their bellies, and they’re kind enough to die while they’re sharing it with you.

…Oof.  Being too late to the party.  Oof.  Being too indecisive.  Oof.  Being inarticulate when it counts.  Oof.

…The house I grew up in?  It was both the scariest and loneliest place on earth.

…You don’t need to tell me.  I already know I’m fragile, but at least I’m still living.

—YOU’RE GOING TO BE FINE.  THE UNIVERSE IS STILL ON YOUR SIDE

…Even an anorexic can’t compete with ice.

…Instead of putting pressure on your brain, hold a glass of wine to it.  Lifting that glass is about stepping from outsider to insider where everything’s a bit warmer.

…Poetry is for all those who want to come home but don’t know which direction to travel.

…Come on, Darling, there’s a sky full of stars just waiting for us.

…The photos reveal the scars, but not the punishment.

…The thing is, there’s a thing in nothing.

…Birds, the keep singing no matter who has tried to silence them.

…Sometimes giving and taking means a little more giving than taking.

…Sometimes you can’t get out of bed, and sometimes you can’t wait to.

…Words are potions, if ingested they will heal or kill you.

…Some of us are killed in pieces, some of us all at once.

…Ask the rain what it was like to be a river, then ask the river what it was like to be drowned

…It wasn’t what you said, it was how you delivered it.

…All I do is pretend I’m okay, because that’s what you told me to do.

…That’s it.  I’ve found the word for you.  You are magic.

…I did learn one thing the hard way: loneliness is real and necessary if you want to live.

…Test results say I think too much, or not enough.  Test results say I ask none of the right questions.

…How did it feel to become a thing that could feel everything, and then not feel a thing?

…It’s funny how many ways you can relate to a ghost.

…There’s pills for that.

…If there’s a cure for this, I want it.

…Look, I’m not going to manufacture any more sadness.

…I’m busy breathing.  Come back later.

--THERE COULD BE AN ANSWER FOR THAT, BUT I’M NOT SURE

“And you were knocking me down with the palm of your eye.”

..."Hearing Snow Patrol tonight... remembering vividly your meeting when you shared the story of the dad and his son... with the background of this music. No matter where we all end up... you are forever ‘tying ropes’. Thanks so much, Len.”

..."OMG! I cannot hear Snow Patrol without thinking of you, Len! Not only “Chasing Cars”, but also, “You Could Be Happy”! Makes me smile, every time.”

…Get comfortable.  It’s a long way to the end, if you don’t take any shortcuts.

…All snakes swim.  Who knew?

…First thing, last thing, everything, nothing.

“I am barely breathing.  I can’t find the air.  Don’t know who I’m kidding…”

…There’s almost nothing a glass of wine, some quiet jazz, a bright moon and a naked body can’t fix.  If only we were all born knowing this.

…Sometimes the end is exactly where you need to begin.

…I can’t believe how many evenings I’ve had nightmares of late, the kind that wake you up with a fright, and then each time when you doze again you go right back into that pit of hell.

…Sometimes one hundred million years is exactly the right amount of time to spend under the covers, curled up with a blanket and hot cocoa while the fire’s going.

…You’re not a piece in time: You are time—the beginning, middle, eternity.

…Blooming in your darkest hour—now there’s the real challenge.

…I can be a weed in the lawn, or a vine around the rose.

…I can tell you stories, but you have to be willing to hear.  I can share secrets, but you have to be willing to believe.

…If you’re not a star-gazer, you’re missing something else.

…Your actions will always dictate your mood, so it’s best to choose wisely.

…Ever find that space in your mind at night where some insight comes to you, crawling through the darkness like some being?  Maybe that’s what we call God.  Or perhaps it’s nothing coming to us at all except what was  already there all along.

…Your future is brighter than anything holding you back.  I just know it.
