—I WISH I KNEW A WAY TO TELL YOU WHERE I’VE BEEN

crayola

it’s a speechless
spread again
little to do but
punch the air
molten fires
everywhere
discounted wounds
heaped in
every corner
a flock of
rabid geese
comminuting
the sky
with blatant
disregard
them the only
sign of life
as i cling to
the edges of
memory
awaiting summer
killer bees
monster hornets
and hate mail
written in crayon
