--TIME IS A FLAT CIRCLE
…I finished season 2 of “Orange is the New Black.” It’s a pretty great show with so many individualized
characters. And there probably has never
been a show with that many incredibly rendered women in it. Watch the show. You’ll be glad.
…I’m nearing the end of “Plainsong” by Kent Haruf. What a wonderful writer. His prose is simple and spare and confident
and you really end up rooting for these down and out blue collar
characters. I’ve now got all of the
books he’s written and I’m taking them in slowly, the way you’re supposed to
enjoy a fine wine (although I never do it that way).
…I had a massage on Saturday. If you
have a good masseuse, there’s nothing better than a massage. Mine was good. The only problem is the euphoria only lasts a
few hours, like drugs I guess. Now my
neck is tighter than ever. But hey, it
was a birthday present and for 90 minutes I was floating in the clouds with St.
Peter or someone that looked like him.
...My birthday was a couple of weeks ago. I got lots of nice birthday wishes. They almost all very short and said the same thing except this, which I thought was very cool and sweet:
Happy Birthday! I hope
you create something every day. Paint. Write. Design. Draw. Garden. Make
something that was not there before. It's the secret to staying sane. Enjoy
your next 365-day journey around the sun. Warm regards Amanda
…The sun is a scalding jawbreaker today.
I might have to head to the deck and enjoy a Corona and read.
….I found this (below). Some are
interesting (most of the ones toward the end), some not.
Enjoy
